August 24, 2012

Today I have for you a special treat from a lovely lady, Michelle.
She was the lucky winner of the 1000 follower celebration I had a while back which included a guest post. I am so thrilled she won and I know you will love her and her encouraging words :)

Take it away Michelle

Thank you, Breanna, for giving me the opportunity to guest post here at My Beautiful, Crazy Life!

My name is Michelle and I blog over at Step by Step. I am a 21-year-old college student taking life one day at a time. I'm a fun-loving, adventure-seeking, follower of Christ.

When I was offered the chance to do a guest post, I wasn't sure what I wanted to say to all of you lovely readers. There are so many blogs out there about fashion, photography, cooking, or something else crafty and interesting. Since my blog is a little more spontaneous, I felt a little lost as to what I would share. Then I remembered why I started blogging in the first place...to encourage and uplift my readers! So here are just some thoughts to encourage you!

I have been reading through a book by John Piper called Don't Waste Your Life. Turning 21 last week and starting my LAST year of college in just a few days really got me thinking about what I'm doing with my life. Time just keeps on going by and I feel like I don't have a whole lot to show for it sometimes. I do not want to still feel that way in 50 years.

I want to be able to look back and see what I contributed to this world. What I did for Christ. How I gave of myself to those in need. How often I put others before myself. My goal for this final year of school and hopefully for a lifetime to come is to
live life to the absolute fullest.

Not by doing what will benefit me, but by doing what will make a difference for everyone. I want to take more risks, break out of my shell, and find ways to really live. Maybe I'll volunteer in a shelter, maybe I'll leave the country and find needs worldwide, or maybe I'll just pray for others more often. I'm not sure what I will do, but I know for certain I am going to start living with the mindset of making a difference for others and for Christ.

If any of you are out there making a difference, I would love to hear exactly what it is you are doing! And if any of you are in the same boat as me and want to be living for a purpose, what are some ideas you have for how you will start?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this guest-post and I hope you will stop on over and see me again at Step by Step! And thank you again Breanna for giving me a chance to introduce myself to all your readers!

I just got back from Haiti & my heart is broken more than ever before. It is wonderful allowing God to use our brokenness.
